Lakeside Winery - July 30 Our first drive will be to the Lakeridge Winery and Vineyards on July 30 for their summer music series. The featured band is "Baby Blues and the No Attitude Band". Historic Henley Field Baseball - August 30 We’re taking the Zs to historic Henley field in Lakeland to see the Flying Tigers play a baseball game! The Tigers are the Detroit Tigers class (A) farm team and will play the Daytona Tortugas on Tuesday August 30 at 1 pm. We will depart from Rohan Rec center that day at 10:30 am for the 63 mile trip to the park. Tickets will be purchased at the gate at $5 pp and there is plenty of shade in the stands.
Cruisin' on the River - October 27 On a lazy, lazy day, can you think of anything better to do than glide down a cool river? Bok Tower Tower Gardens - November 29 The trip is about 80 miles down scenic Rt 33. Bok Tower Gardens is a National Historic Landmark that has enthralled visitors since 1929. The singing tower is the center of the 50 acres of beautiful landscaped estate. Daily concerts are preformed daily at 1 & 3 pm daily consisting of its 60 bells. The Pinewood Estate Home on grounds is a 20 room med style home showing its lifestyle of the 30's. See an array of nature theme yuletide decorations there. Take advantage of self guided tours of the complete property. We will have time to lunch on the grounds at the Blue Palmetto Café which serves sandwiches, soups, wraps and salads. Holiday Drive - December 19 It’s Christmas season in Florida – so how do we celebrate? Why, with plates of shrimp and seafood by the water, of course! The Freezer Tiki Bar in Homosassa has cold beer, wine, plates of shrimp, crab legs, seafood and stone crab. They have outdoor seating by a marina. It is very casual. (Bring cash as they do not take credit cards) After filling our tummies, we will proceed to the Christmas celebration of lights at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park on US 19. The Christmas lights are synchronized to music. There is a $5 donation.
